Allantoin

An extract from the comfrey plant, is a non-irritating ingredient that increases water retention in the epidermis and rebuilds the protective hydro-lipid coat. Allantoin has been shown to stimulate cell division, and epithelialization (wound healing), and accelerate the regeneration process of damaged skin and reduce inflammation. Allantoin also has strong moisturizing, and skin soothing properties, keeps out pollutants and chemicals, and has a high safety of therapy, due to extensive research, in human clinical trials over long periods of time.

Aloe Vera

Stimulates fibroblast which produces collagen, and elastin fibers making the skin more flexible and smooth to the touch. It has cohesive effects on the superficial flaking of epidermal cells by sticking them together, which softens the skin. The amino acids also soften hardened skin cells and zinc acts as an astringent to tighten pores. 75 potentially active constituents: vitamins, enzymes, minerals, sugars, lignin, saponins, salicylic acids and amino acids. Vitamins: It contains vitamins A (beta-carotene), C and E, which are antioxidants. It also contains vitamin B12, folic acid, and choline. Aloe contains monosaccharides called alprogen, a potent anti-inflammatory compound. Bradykinase, a mineral in aloe responsible for reducing excessive inflammation, when applied to the skin topically. Aloe provides Glucomannan, a mannose-rich polysaccharide, and gibberellin, a growth hormone, interacts with growth factor receptors on the fibroblast, thereby stimulating its activity and proliferation, which in turn significantly increases collagen synthesis Due to this, it accelerated wound contraction and increased the breaking strength of resulting scar tissue, and increased synthesis of hyaluronic acid.

Amino Acid Complex (arginine, proline leucine, glycine)

At Low molecular weight (900D), effectively penetrating the epidermis, maintaining skin’s hydration, texture, and resilience. Amino acids increase, and support healthy collagen, and peptide synthesis. Peptides are strings of amino acids, which are the building blocks that make up peptides, and proteins like collagen, and elastin fibers. Peptides will signal your skin to boost its production of collagen, and hyaluronic acid, and inhibit the immune response that triggers inflammation.

Astaxanthin

Is a naturally occurring xanthophyll carotenoid that is found in algae. It is one of nature's most potent antioxidants, neutralizing free radicals, and other oxidants. In terms of antioxidant power, astaxanthin is 6,000 times stronger than vitamin C, 800 times stronger than CoQ10, 550 times stronger than vitamin E and green tea catechins, and 40 times more powerful than beta-carotene. Astaxanthin exerts its beneficial effects on the skin via potent antioxidant, photo-protective (UV-blocking) and anti-inflammatory actions. It acts as a chain-breaking antioxidant, and therefore protects lipid-rich cell membranes from degradative oxidation. Like many carotenoids, it is a colorful, lipid-soluble pigment. In several clinical studies, astaxanthin has been shown to increase skin hydration and elasticity, reduce erythema, decrease hyperpigmentation, and promote skin smoothness, by diminishing fine lines and wrinkles.

Bamboo Charcoal

It has been used for years to treat toxin poisoning, because it latches on to toxins in the stomach, and absorbs them before the bloodstream. The porous surface of activated charcoal has a negative electric charge that causes positively charged toxins and gas to bind to it. The magnet-like properties of activated charcoal attract dirt, heavy metals, and excess oil from your pores, which you then rinse off keeping your skin clear of environmental and oxidative stress.

Beet Extract

Are rich in polysaccharides, Polysaccharides are responsible for the skin's natural ability to hydrate and retain water. Beet roots are also rich in anthocyanins and betalains which in addition to giving the beet it’s vivid color, also act as potent antioxidants that prevent extrinsic damage caused by free radicals and reactive oxygen species. Beetroots are also rich in Vitamin C which helps in clearing blemishes and evens out your skin tone while giving it a natural glow. Beta Glucan

The results showed that beta‐glucan, despite its large molecular size, deeply penetrated the skin into the epidermis and dermis. Beta glucan is a humectant moisturizer that attracts water to the top layers of skin.  Beta Glucan is approved by the FDA and the EU for its skin repair properties. It works by stimulating fibroblasts, and is even used on surgical implants to speed wound healing. It helps stimulate collagen synthesis, for added strength to the dermal matrix, and provides long term moisturization. Beta-glucans even go so far as to fend off encroaching bacteria that could disrupt the skin's barrier. "Beta-glucans work by stimulating the macrophages (they work to fight off invading pathogens that can cause infections) and stimulate other immune cells to attack pathogens," it was verified that macrophages can also stimulate other cells such as keratinocytes and fibroblasts that re-epithelialize the wound and create new blood vessels to the area in need of healing.

Borage CO2 Extract

Is higher in gamma-linolenic acid (GLA), than any currently known naturally occurring oil, (approx double the GLA in Evening Primrose CO2). GLA is a conditionally essential fatty acid for the skin, it is unable to synthesize GLA, and therefore depends on the preformed GLA for optimal structure and function. When your body breaks down GLA, it creates another ingredient called dihomo-gamma-linolenic acid (DGLA). And when DGLA levels in your body increase, research proves that inflammation in your body decreases significantly. When inflammation is regulated, normal cell function and osmosis are more obtainable. Borage oil has shown consistent success in reducing the severity of acne flare ups, slows down the signs of aging, and even has been shown to significantly reduce the redness and inflammation brought upon by eczema.

Bifida Ferment Lysate

Is a type of probiotic obtained by the fermentation of Bifida. Studies have found that it helps prevent skin damage from exposure to UV light, hydrate the skin, and strengthen the skin's immune system of the participants. The ingredient had also helped soothe inflammation and reduce dry skin.

Calendula Extract

Extracted from marigold flowers, it has been used for centuries in holistic circles for its purported skin-soothing abilities, and as a treatment in eczema, acne and healing broken skin. Calendula oil is naturally anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and is beneficial for all skin types, including dry and sensitive. It's also been shown in some studies to aid in collagen synthesis. Calendula has antifungal, anti-inflammatory, and antibacterial properties that make it useful in healing wounds, treating acne, soothing eczema, and relieving redness and inflammation. It's also used as an antiseptic.

Camellia Seed Oil

Ceramides make up 50% of the skin barrier. Ceramides are lipids that help form the skin’s barrier, they are naturally occurring but diminishing over time, and people with acne tend to have less. Ceramides are fatty acids in-between skin cells that help form the skin barrier, rebuild and restore the protective barrier, increase skin ability to retain moisture, visibly diminish signs of aging, prevent water loss from occurring, and protect the skin against pollution and chemical exposure.

MCTs or Medium Chain Triglycerides (of Medium Chain Fatty Acids) are fatty acids of a certain length, as the name suggests. MCT oil is an oil made up of one or more of these medium chain triglycerides, MCT oil can be extracted from coconuts.  coconut oil is 62% MCT oil. The fat found in pure MCT oil is rapidly absorbed and will not clog pores, locks in moisture and smooths the texture of the skin, ennances elasticity, fights candida, and bacterial growth. Micrococcus Lysate (soil bacterium)

Mugwort (artemisia)

Which is mainly composed of β-pinene, α-pinene, camphor, and 1,8-cineole, has diverse applications including as an antioxidant, antibacterial, anti fungal. Not only will it assist in the killing of the pathogens, it is a strong astringent that clears pores of acne causing dirt and oil build up. Mugwort also contains chamazulene, which helps calm redness, increase cell turnover rate, and regulate immune response by inhibiting the leukotriene synthesis (cells that promote inflammation).  Camphor, another component found in mugwort, is attributed to its soothing anti-inflammatory properties. Pinene is an antiviral agent,  It also contains advanced anti-inflammatory properties .

Niacinamide

Also known as vitamin B3, this compound has been clinically proven for years  to help brighten the complexion, reduce water loss and wrinkle formation, fight inflammation, prevent barrier function defects, regulates sebum production and anti-inflammatory activity,  all of which are essential for preventing acne, and oxidation damage  that leads to signs of aging.  Niacinamide reduces pore size,  visibly plums and smooths skin texture. Vitamin B3 uniquely enhances the  bioavailability of retinol, peptides, hyaluronic acid, AHAs, BHA, vitamin C, and all types of antioxidants.

Oatmeal Extract

Soaks up the excess oil on your skin and helps to treat acne breakouts. Its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties help to treat dry skin and remove dead skin cells. Oats also contain compounds called saponins, which are natural cleansers. They remove the dirt and oil that clog the pores and exfoliate the skin. Olive Oil

Olive oil is also rich in vitamin E, which absorbs UV rays, preventing UV-induced free radical damage to skin. Another lipid that plays a crucial role in the skin barrier, both helping to minimize the likelihood of skin irritation and keeping skin hydrated.

Think of the skin barrier as a brick wall—the cells are the bricks, and the phytosphingosine (and ceramides) make up the mortar in between. Losing that mortar and the brick wall is going to have trouble staying intact.

Pullulan (derived from fungi)

Is a polysaccharide polymer, which basically means that it’s a big molecule made up of smaller sugar molecule units. It dissolves in water and can make a thin, elastic, and moisture-absorbing film when spread on the skin that can cause an instant tightening effect. It can also be used as a thickener to get a silicone-like feel

Pumpkin Seed Oil pumpkin seed oil
